The Black Knight Team
Mitch Black Vigneron Vineyard manager and Winemaker since Black Knight Vineyards’ inception in 2007, Mitch has let his passion for elegant, well balanced wines show.  His winemaking style is old world, focusing on small-lot, handcrafted Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Born and raised in upstate New York, he went on to get his B.S. in Chemical Enginerring at Clarkson and an MBA at University of Chicago.  He applied his busy saavy and process flow engineering skills to build a highly successful turnaround consulting business.  Mitch made the most of his travel-heavy work by cultivating a wine cellar and pallete from all over the world.  After 30 years in business, Mitch decided to go big and live the dream of buying a vineyard and learning to make wine. Smart and well-read, he caught up quickly.  His background plays a big part in his success as a vigneron here in Sonoma.
DeAnne Black Tasting Room Manager The ultimate wine country powerhouse, DeAnne has become the backbone of Black Knight Vineyards, making sure things are always moving forward.  Whether it’s running the tasting room or getting outside and pruning 15 acres, DeAnne is involved and keeps everyone’s spirits high.
Lexine Black Cellar Master
Lexine Black Cellar Master Oldest daugher of Mitch and DeAnne, Lexi joined Black Knight as an employee in 2015. While her most formal title is Cellar Master, she is increasingly involved in the vineyard management, winemaking, and cellar maintenance.  A self pro-claimed nerd, Lexi received a dual B.S. in Applied Math and Earth Science at UC San Diego and went on to get her Masters in Geophysics at California State University, Northridge.  While wine was not her intended field, she works to use her expertise as often as she can.  With a geologically rich and diverse property, and her own Fault Line to look at every day, it’s not hard to make use of her knowledge.
